new hospital now open
Wishing Trees have become popular around the world. Families and communities come together to share their hopes for the future by writing and placing wishes on a tree. These trees date back to ancient China.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s sibling care center will feature a permanent Wishing Tree. Brothers and sisters of patients can express their feelings and share wishes and hopes for their hospitalized sibling and hang them on this very special tree. With more than 1 million patient visits expected at Nationwide Children’s within the first year of opening, the wishing tree will be a busy destination.
Special thanks to local Greater Columbus Arts Council poet, Maggie Smith, for authoring our "Wishing Tree Poem."
