Nationwide Children's Hospital is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). We abide by all APPIC policies related to the application, intern selection and matching processes. We agree to abide by the APPIC policy that no person at this training facility will solicit, accept or use any ranking-related information from any intern applicant. You may contact APPIC at:
Our program utilizes the APPIC Application for Psychology Internships (AAPI) online. AAPI required materials include a cover letter/statement of interest, curriculum vitae, official graduate transcript(s), 3 reference letters, and Summary of Doctoral Training to be verified by your program's Director of Clinical Training/Training Director. We do not require any supplemental materials.
Important Note: In your cover letter/statement of interest, please clearly state the tracks to which you are applying.
Interviews are by invitation only.
We believe that a personal interview is extremely helpful to both the applicant and faculty in assessing the fit of our internship with an applicant’s training needs and professional goals.
The application review and interview process is handled separately by each training track. After the Nov. 3, 2016 application deadline, each application will be reviewed by at least three faculty members. After the application reviews are completed, faculty members from each track meet to decide which applicants to invite for an interview. Those applicants selected for interview are then contacted by the coordinator for the respective track and invited for a 1-day interview. Applicants invited to interview will be contacted no later than Nov. 25, 2016.
Each track interviews on different dates, and at different Nationwide Children's Hospital locations. Therefore, it is not possible to have interviews for two different tracks on the same day. Interview dates for the 2017-2018 academic year are as follows:
