Applying to Multiple Tracks

We strongly encourage applicants to talk with their academic advisors and supervisors and to reflect carefully upon their own training experiences prior to selecting a track.  On each track’s page we have listed factors that reviewers often look favorably upon.  We hope that this information will help applicants select the track that is the best match for them.

Based on past years’ applicant data and our own experiences in reviewing applications, few applicants are a good match for more than one track. On average, less than one percent apply to more than one track, and even fewer are invited to interview for more than one track.

Selection for Interview

Interviews are by invitation only.

We believe that a personal interview is extremely helpful to both the applicant and faculty in assessing the fit of our internship with an applicant’s training needs and professional goals.

The application review and interview process is handled separately by each training track. After the Nov. 3, 2016 application deadline, each application will be reviewed by at least three faculty members. After the application reviews are completed, faculty members from each track meet to decide which applicants to invite for an interview. Those applicants selected for interview are then contacted by the coordinator for the respective track and invited for a 1-day interview. Applicants invited to interview will be contacted no later than Nov. 25, 2016.

Interview Dates

Each track interviews on different dates, and at different Nationwide Children's Hospital locations.  Therefore, it is not possible to have interviews for two different tracks on the same day.  Interview dates for the 2017-2018 academic year are as follows:
