  • Centrifuge within 2 hours, separate supernatant and freeze

Reasons for Rejection

  • Hemolyzed specimen

Comments

Allow serum tube to sit for 15-20 minutes at room temperature for proper clot formation.

Hemolysis is a cause for rejection and this test will not be performed with a disclaimer. The cutoff limit for hemolysis present in a specimen that can be tested is 100 mg/dL. No pink or red color, they will try a light orange colored specimen.
