  • Transport to the lab immediately after collection
  • If delay in transport greater than 1 hour, refrigerate

  • Diluted specimen
  • Fluid specimens received in M4 transport media
  • Thawed and refrozen specimen
  • Not received within specified time frame
  • Not received at proper temperature

Comments

Concurrent testing of a more permissive site is recommended with CSF samples. Samples received after 0900 will be done the next day of testing.
