Specimen Preparation

  • Do not centrifuge
  • Transport to laboratory as soon as possible
  • Transfer well mixed whole blood into an ARUP Standard Transport Tube and freeze. Do not freeze in the original collection tube.
  • Mix by gentle inversion immediately after collection

Reasons for Rejection

  • Collected in tube with gel separator
  • Not received within specified time frame
  • Not frozen within specified time frame

Comments

Critical Frozen! Transfer well mixed whole blood into an ARUP Standard Transport Tube and freeze, do not freeze in the original collection tube.
