Specimen Preparation

  • Transport to laboratory as soon as possible
  • Centrifuge within 45 minutes, separate supernatant and freeze

Reasons for Rejection

  • Gross lipemia
  • Serum or Plasma received at room temperature

Comments

Collection Insttructions: Patient should fast overnight (12-14 hours). Patient must not consume any alcohol for 24 hours before the specimen is drawn.
