When collecting swab specimens, place swab into viral transport media (M4) and CUT the swab shaft leaving the swab in the vial. Screw the vial cap tightly. Frozen specimens MUST remain frozen until the time of testing. Do not freeze whole blood. Testing from a specimen type not listed should be discussed with laboratory personnel (614-722-5404). Specimens received after 0900 will be done on the next day of testing.
