This provides reporting capabilities using sql server databases.

Statistical Software Support


SAS is a software suite that can mine, alter, manage and retrieve data from a variety of sources and perform statistical analysis on it. It is widely used in insurance, public health, scientific research, finance, human resources, IT, utilities, and retail, and is used for operations research, project management, quality improvement, forecasting and decision-making.


SigmaPlot is a proprietary software package for scientific graphing and data analysis. The software can read multiple formats (such as Microsoft Excel spreadsheets), and can also perform mathematical transforms and statistical analyses.


SPSS Statistics is a software package used for statistical analysis.


Stat/Transfer is designed to simplify the transfer of statistical data between different programs.

Data Collection


CERF  is a GxP 21CFR11-compliant electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) that addresses the records-keeping needs of research organizations while supporting the information management and sharing needs of scientists via a cross-platform client-server system.


Research is using the community edition of OpenClinica and it is free.  This application is used for data collection for clinical studies.


REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a browser-based, metadata-driven Electronic Data Capture software solution and workflow methodology for designing clinical and translational research databases. It is widely used in the academic research community: the REDCap Consortium is a collaborative, international network of more than 250 institutional partners, with more than 20,000 total end-users employing the software more than 30,000 ongoing research studies.


Surveying tool that can be used by anyone on Nationwide Children's campus.


TeleForm is a forms processing application developed by Hewlett Packard company Cardiff Software as a survey tool for paper and online use.

Website Design / Development / Implementation


PHP is a server-side scripting language designed for web development but also used as a general-purpose programming language. PHP is free software released under the PHP License, which is incompatible with the GNU General Public License (GPL) due to restrictions on the usage of the term PHP.

Ruby on Rails

Ruby on Rails, often simply Rails, is an open source web application framework which runs on the Ruby programming language. It is a full-stack framework: it allows creating pages and applications that gather information from the web server, talk to or query the database, and render templates out of the box. As a result, Rails features a routing system that is independent of the web server.


SharePoint is a MicroSoft web application platform used to provide intranet portals, document & file management, collaboration, social networks, extranets, websites, enterprise search, and business intelligence. It also has system integration, process integration, and workflow automation capabilities.
