How Do I Purchase the Nationwide Children's License Plate?

Visit OPlates.com, visit your Deputy Registrar or call the Ohio BMV at 1-800-589-Tags.

When visiting OPlates.com:

  • Click on plate that says "Special Plates Availability Checking"

  • Select your vehicle type (click continue)

  • Select NCH from the drop box (click continue)

  • Click on "I would like the State of Ohio to assign me a stock plate" (click continue)

  • A sample of the NCH plates should appear (click continue)

  • Place your current plate number/letters in the first box and the last 4 numbers of your social security number in the second box (click continue)

  • Fill in your personal information (your address, email address etc.) and your credit card information (click submit)

  • You will receive a confirmation number via email by OPlates.com once you complete your transaction.

I Just Renewed My Registration. Can I Still Purchase a Nationwide Children’s License Plate?

Yes, you can exchange your license plate for the Nationwide Children’s specialty license plate by choosing the “Exchange Your Plates” option on Oplates.com or by exchanging your plates in person at the Deputy Registrar.

Can I Purchase an Nationwide Children's License Plate for My Leased Vehicle?

Yes, you can purchase an Nationwide Children's license plate for your leased vehicle. You’ll need to get a power of attorney form from the leasing company to submit with your renewal registration form.

Can I Personalize the Nationwide Children's License Plate?

Yes, you can still get a personalized license plate. The cost for personalization is regulated by the State of Ohio. The fees for personalization of all plates, including the Nationwide Children's plates, are retained by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

When I Purchase a Nationwide Children’s License Plate, Is This a One-Time Gift Towards the Hospital?
