The new Columbus Youth Bicycle Helmet Ordinance requires everyone under the age of 18 to wear a helmet while using a bike, scooter, skateboard or in-line skates. A reminder for parents whose kids will be spending time riding bikes this summer wearing a helmet can reduce the risk of brain injury by nearly 90 percent.

Columbus Youth Bicycle Helmet Ordinance enforcement begins July 21, and requires everyone under the age of 18 to wear a helmet when they ride bicycles, scooters, in-line skates or skateboards.
