New Performance Measures for Adolescent Public Comment Now Opens

Nationwide Children's Hospital Part of National Collaborative for Innovation in Quality Measurement

Columbus, OH - 5/14/2012

From Tuesday, May 8 - Tuesday, May 29, 2012 all parties are invited to comment on proposed new measures for Adolescent Health performance measures. These measures will be considered for the Children's Core Set of measures that are reported by states for children enrolled in Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The goals are to improve and strengthen the initial core child health care quality measures established by the Secretary of Health and Human Services and to develop new and emerging quality measures in this important area.

Proposed new measures:

The following proposed new measures to the set will be offered for public comment.

Chlamydia Identification and Follow-Up Measure Suite

  • Sexual Activity Documentation for Adolescents
  • Chlamydia Screening with Results for Female Adolescents
  • Chlamydia Treatment for Female Adolescents w/ Positive Result
Tobacco Use and Follow-Up Measure Suite
  • Tobacco Use Documentation for Adolescents 
  • Tobacco Cessation Treatment for Adolescent Tobacco Users
  • Depression Screening for Adolescents
