PCAO is commemorating National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April with Pinwheels for Prevention, a month-long campaign designed to enhance community awareness about child abuse and neglect and encourage support for prevention. During April, 66 Ohio counties are displaying colorful childrens pinwheels in front of courthouses, playgrounds, libraries and parks. Each pinwheel represents one reported case of child abuse and neglect.
Pinwheels for Prevention was originally created by Prevent Child Abuse Georgia, and has been successful throughout that state for many years. Ohio is celebrating its third year participating in this campaign.
