Biography

Joyce Chen, MD, is a board-certified adult and child and adolescent psychiatrist at Nationwide Children's Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She is currently the Medical Director of the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program at Nationwide Children's and specializes in working with high-risk youth with elevated suicidal and behavioral concerns. She has a strong interest in mood and anxiety disorders, and topics related to transitional youth age, including identity and cultural issues.

Dr. Chen received her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Following adult residency at Cambridge Health Alliance, she completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Weill-Cornell Universities. With an interest in systems of care and the public sector, she completed a second fellowship in Public Psychiatry at Columbia University. She has also learned about psychoanalysis through the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
