Pledge to be a Mental Health Advocate

One small action.

That’s all it takes to start your journey to become a mental health advocate. If we all start conversations, help others and break stigmas this World Mental Health Day, we can make a difference.

Here are some advocacy actions you can take:

  • Check in with someone. Little moments of support for others who might be going through something can boost a person's sense of self-worth.

  • Unplug at dinner and have a conversation. Simple, everyday conversations can provide an opportunity for kids and others to talk about things that are upsetting them.

  • Resolve not to use stigmatizing language. Crazy. Bipolar. Nuts. Resolve to watch what words you use and educate others.

  • Perform a random act of kindness. Your kindness can help someone who may be struggling or feeling down. An act of kindness can help them - and you - feel connected and more positive.

  • Choose your own action - and tell us!
