Dr Hewitt has been working at Nationwide Children's Hospital as a gynecologist for over twenty years. She founded and leads the section of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. Dr. Hewitt's best days are those spent caring for patients and their families in the office, hospital or operating room. She is passionate about educating patients, families and other health care professionals about reproductive healthcare in children, adolescents and young adult women. Dr. Hewitt has served in many national organizations including as the Chair of the Adolescent Health Committee for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the President of the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. Currently Dr. Hewitt serves on the board of the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and co-leads the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Maintenance of Certification process for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr Hewitt has also served on numerous Food and Drug Administration Advisory Committees as an expert opinion relating to contraceptive medications and devices.
