In 2017-18 Nationwide Children’s trained more than 900 residents and fellows. It sponsored 67 different programs for 164 residents and 152 fellows plus nearly 600 rotating trainees.
Nationwide Children’s has always been committed to GME.
- The pediatric residency was the first officially accredited program (1931).
- Pediatric surgery started in 1952, pathology in 1953, and neonatology in 1984.
- The most recent ACGME-accredited program is Hospital and Palliative Medicine (2015).
- The majority of other programs began after 2000.
