Muhammad KhanEllen Chung, MD, is chief of radiology at Nationwide Children's. She completed medical school at Georgetown University, residency at Tripler Army Medical Center, and pediatric radiology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Chung is also a retired US Army colonel. While in the Army, she served as the integrated diagnostic radiology chief during the merger of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center. While assigned to the military medical school, the Uniformed Services University, she was elected president of the Faculty Senate. She served as the pediatric section chief at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and later American Institute for Radiologic Pathology from 2003-2020, teaching pediatric radiologic-pathologic correlation to nearly all radiology residents in the United States and 28 other countries. Dr. Chung joined Nationwide Children’s in 2019 as associate chief of radiology.

In addition to faculty development, Dr. Chung's interests include establishing a multicenter radiologic-pathologic correlation conference with other pediatric hospitals and developing a robust practice of contrast-enhanced ultrasound at Nationwide Children's. She is also interested in non-fiction reading, leadership skills development, personal productivity and helping people communicate more effectively.
