Homecare Update

(From the June 2022 Issue of MedStat)

RSV Season 2022-2023 Preparations and HME Update

The 2021-2022 RSV season got off to an earlier than normal start. Last season saw babies diagnosed with RSV as inpatients as early as June. Thus, the need for Synagis dosing started much earlier in the season. This season, Homecare is preparing to care for patients who may need to continue their Synagis dosing at home earlier than November 1. Early identification of second season Synagis patients contributes to best patient outcomes. Once a patient is identified, Homecare encourages providers to call (614) 355-1100 to speak with a Synagis coordinator. For more information, click here.

Update from HME about new incontinence referrals for diapers: When the pandemic started, HME stopped taking new referrals (even for existing patients) due to supply chain issues. This issue is resolved. Homecare HME is now accepting new incontinence/diaper referrals.
