Catherine Dent Krawczeski, MD, has joined Nationwide Children’s Hospital as division chief of Cardiology. An accomplished physician-scientist, Dr. Krawczeski’s research primarily focuses on acute kidney injury following cardiac surgery and interventions for congenital heart disease. She has served as a principal investigator or co-investigator on more than 10 funded grants since 2004, with seven supported by the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Krawczeski, who will also be a professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, received her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She served as a pediatric resident and pediatric chief resident at St. Louis Children’s Hospital at Washington University, where she completed fellowships in pediatric critical care medicine and pediatric cardiology. Dr. Krawczeski was most recently the James Baxter and Yvonne Craig Wood Endowed Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and director of the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto, California.
