Pharmacy Residency Rotations

Many rotations are available within Children’s Hospital. Please see individual program listings for a more comprehensive explanation of the required and elective rotations available within each specific program. Residents may request a rotation outside of their specialty area based upon their own interests.

PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency (with emphasis in community care) Rotations

The resident will complete longitudinal rotations through the outpatient pharmacy at Children’s Hospital.  Experiences will be focused in the following areas:

  • Direct patient care with additional experiences available through, but not limited to the following outpatient clinics:
    • Adolescent Clinic
    • HIV Clinic
    • Internal Medicine Adult/Pediatric Clinic
    • Nephrology
    • Primary Care  
  • Leadership/Meetings
  • Practice Management
  • Professional Service/Staffing in the Outpatient Pharmacy
  • Residency Project
  • Teaching/Education with the opportunity to receive a teaching certificate

The rotations specifics will be tailored to the resident’s individual interests.
