Biography
Dr. Stella Antonara earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology from Tufts University School of Medicine and a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Patras, Greece. Dr. Antonara completed a Clinical Microbiology Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and worked on a comparison of molecular epidemiological tools that help tracking of nosocomial pathogens such as vancomycin resistant enterococci. She received the NIH Director’s Award in 2012 for her contribution during the multidrug resistant KPC Klebsiella outbreak. Dr. Antonara received her certification as a diplomat of the American Board of Medical Microbiology (ABMM) in 2013 and joined Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the same year as an Assistant Director of Microbiology and Immunoserology.
