Dr. Nikki Powell is a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral level. Dr. Powell has worked with children on the spectrum for over a decade, focusing on language acquisition and problem-behavior reduction. Her area of specialty at the Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders is severe challenging behavior, and she has worked to formulate service delivery models for children with these unique needs. Dr. Powell started an intensive, clinic-based model of treating severe behavior where evidenced based interventions are used to reduce negative behaviors and train family/community providers to maintain these gains post-treatment. She is involved in research within the behavior analytic community and her current interests include social perceptions of intensive behavioral treatments and program development within outpatient settings.
