Biography

Mehboob Ali, PhD, is a Principal Investigator in the Center for Perinatal Research at The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Ali is focused on cellular and molecular mechanisms of placenta invasion abnormalities such as accreta and preeclampsia using stem cell technologies. Additionally, he is studying regulation of L-MSCs mediated pulmonary vascular repair against hyperoxia induced lung injury which may lead to pulmonary pathologies like PAH or BPD. His specific interest is in understanding the alteration in actin binding proteins (VASP, cofilin1, profilin1 and alpha-2C) and actin dynamics in both trophoblast invasion and hyperoxia lung injury associated pathologies.
