Mary Neel, MD, is a physician in the Division of Neonatology at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The goal of Dr. Neel's clinical and research work is to promote the best possible neurodevelopmental outcomes for former preterm, and other high risk, infants. Her specific research interests are in leveraging parenting style and parent/child interactions to improve child neurodevelopment. This includes early identification of at-risk parent/infant dyads in the NICU and mechanistic and multimodal study of parent/infant interactions. Clinically, she values both early and late care of preterm infants and those with brain injury. Dr. Neel works in our OSU delivery hospital and level III NICU, as well as the Nationwide Children's NICU, and the Early Cerebral Palsy Program in our Early Development Clinic.
