Leslie K. Mihalov, MD, is an attending physician in the section of Emergency Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital and an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Mihalov's academic career has been with The Ohio State University; Department of Pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and focused on teaching and mentoring. She was the Associate Director of the Pediatric Residency Training Program for 17 years. She was Division and Section Chief of Emergency Medicine from 1998-2016. She is currently Medical Director for Operation of the hospital.

She received training in the science of quality improvement in healthcare at Intermountain Advanced Training Program in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2010. She now serves regularly as an Executive Coach to participants in the hospital’s training program for Quality Improvement Essentials. In 2018, Dr. Mihalov became the Medical Advisor for the CDI program.

Dr. Mihalov’s favorite aspect of her career in academic medicine is having the honor of guiding and mentoring young medical students, residents and fellows through all aspects of their careers.

For the past 15 years, she has been involved with Healing Art Missions working in Haiti several times a year. She has taken medical students, residents and fellows on her various trips. She has made a real connection with the Haitian people, especially the children. Although the majority of Dr. Mihalov’s time is occupied with administrative duties, she continues to enjoy the practice of medicine and works in the Emergency Department on a regular basis.
