Biography

John T. Kissel, MD, is an attending neurologist at Nationwide Children's and co-director of Nationwide Children's Hospital's Spinal Muscular Atrophy Clinic. He is a Professor of Pediatrics, Neurology and Neuroscience at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and is Chair of the Department of Neurology there. He works with patients in the SMA Clinic and conducts clinical trials in the Research Department. His background comprises numerous achievements in medical studies, teaching, and clinical research. He is co-director of both the Muscular Dystrophy Clinic and the ALS Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Clinic at OSU, and has published on a wide range of peripheral nerve, muscle, and anterior horn cell disorders, including co-authorship of the text, Diagnosis and Management of Peripheral Nerve Disorders. He has been named as a Best Doctors in America for the past 15 years.
