Biography

Aurelia Wood, MD, FAAP, is a physician in the Section of Endocrinology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She obtained her medical degree at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, OH. She completed pediatric residency at the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine in Louisville, KY where she was also selected to serve as chief resident. She is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatrics Endocrinology & Diabetes.

A Westerville native, Dr. Wood returned to Columbus and joined the faculty at Nationwide Children’s Hospital after completing her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology and diabetes at Washington University in St. Louis. She is the co-creator and Co-Medical Director of the Diabetes and School Health (DASH) Program, an enhanced care coronation program to support families, school staff and patients with type 1 diabetes in the school setting. She has special interest in community facing efforts to promote healthcare literacy and self-efficacy for patients with Type 1 Diabetes, particularly adolescents and those who are affected by healthcare disparities.
