Annie I. Drapeau, MD, is a Pediatric Neurosurgeon in the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Drapeau completed her fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in pediatric neurosurgery before joining as a faculty member in 2018. She completed her residency in neurosurgery at the University of Manitoba and the University of Sherbrooke with one year as chief resident. Dr. Drapeau received her Doctor of Medicine and Masters of Science in pharmacology from the University of Sherbrooke. She also received a diploma in specialized studies for clinician investigator.
Dr. Drapeau's clinical interests include collaborative work with craniofacial disorders (craniofacial team), brain tumors (neuro-oncology team), endoscopic skull base approach (ENT team) and other clinical interests including Chiari malformations, hydrocephalus, and general pediatric neurosurgery.
Dr. Drapeau’s research interests include blood-brain barrier and pediatric malignant primary brain tumors, cervical spine injury and non-accidental trauma, patient volume effects on outcomes in pediatric neuro-oncology and more. She has an extensive list of presentations, publications, grants and awards to display her dedication to pediatric neurosurgery as an academic and medical professional. She has received many awards including Valedictorian of her residency program at the University of Sherbrooke and the Resident Traveling Fellowship Award from the Pediatric Section of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Drapeau is also involved in professional societies including American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
