Annie I. Drapeau, MD, is a Pediatric Neurosurgeon in the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Drapeau completed her fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in pediatric neurosurgery before joining as a faculty member in 2018. She completed her residency in neurosurgery at the University of Manitoba and the University of Sherbrooke with one year as chief resident. Dr. Drapeau received her Doctor of Medicine and Masters of Science in pharmacology from the University of Sherbrooke. She also received a diploma in specialized studies for clinician investigator. Additionally, she is board-certified for neurosurgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. 

Dr. Drapeau is the co-director of the craniosynostosis program, part of the Center for Complex Craniofacial Disorders. Her other clinical interests include collaborative work to treat children with brain tumors (neuro-oncology team), especially those who require an endoscopic skull base approach (ENT team). In addition, Dr. Drapeau has broad interests including Chiari malformations, hydrocephalus, and general pediatric neurosurgery. 

Dr. Drapeau’s research interests mainly focus on craniosynostosis, quality improvement and safety in neurosurgery as well as health-related quality of life of families and patients with craniosynostosis. Her other interests include collaborative research for pediatric brain tumors like craniopharyngiomas and others. She has an extensive list of presentations, publications, grants and awards to display her dedication to pediatric neurosurgery as an academic and medical professional. She has received many awards including Valedictorian of her residency program at the University of Sherbrooke and the Resident Traveling Fellowship Award from the Pediatric Section of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Drapeau is also involved in professional societies including American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
