Developmental Services: Children needing a NICU stay may be at risk of developmental delays. There are developmental services in the community available at no charge. Children from birth to age 3 who are diagnosed with a developmental delay may be eligible for early intervention services. Ask to be connected to an early intervention specialist for more information on these services.

    post-partum depression via telephone, online support and group meetings.

If you have any concerns regarding your own safety or the safety of your child(ren), please contact your NICU social worker for further assistance.

Financial Assistance: Your NICU social worker is available to help you with information regarding financial programs you may be approved for due to your child’s hospitalization. There is also a representative from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services who has an office at Nationwide Children’s Hospital who can meet with you to see if you qualify. Your social worker can help direct you on how to schedule a meeting.
