Your Pregnancy, Week 39

You're almost there! After months of waiting, your labor may start soon. This signals the birth of your baby.

You may notice a small amount of mucus and blood coming from your vagina. This is called bloody show. Some women may have a sudden gush or a slow trickle of fluid from the vagina. This is your water breaking. These are all signs that labor is starting.  Be on the lookout for other symptoms, too. These include diarrhea or contractions that come every 5 minutes or less.

If you have any of these signs, call your healthcare provider. Know that it’s natural to feel anxious about this process, especially if you’ve never had a baby before!
