Your Pregnancy, Week 23
You may feel like pregnancy affects all of your body parts. Well, that's probably true!
Did you know that pregnancy can even affect your mouth and teeth? Have you noticed your gums bleeding after you brush? This is due to the increase in hormones that affect the mucous membranes in your mouth. These shifts in hormone levels can also affect how your body responds to the bacteria in your mouth. This makes you more prone to cavities or gum disease. So, remember to brush twice a day and floss each day. Keep up with dental checkups.
