Your Pregnancy, Week 19
Things are really moving along and starting to take shape. Your baby-to-be is starting to look like a newborn now. He or she is about 6 inches long and weighs about half a pound. Within a few short weeks, though, he or she will double in weight. Fine hair called lanugo covers your baby’s body. A white, greasy substance called vernix starts to form to protect his or her thin, wrinkled skin. Your baby is now fully capable of hearing, and can even hear your voice!
