Your Pregnancy, Week 16
As your belly grows during pregnancy, finding a comfortable sleeping position can be a challenge! Most healthcare providers suggest sleeping on your side rather than your back. When you lie on your back, the weight of your uterus can put pressure on a major blood vessel. This blood vessel carries blood back to your heart from your legs. This pressure could cause you to get lightheaded or dizzy if you stand up too quickly. To get comfy on your side, put a pillow behind your back or between your knees. This can give you support and help your hips stay aligned.
