Are you a current Health Information Management (HIM) student interested in gaining real world experience in the HIM environment? Join us for a free information session to learn more about our new 6-8 week, paid, part-time HIM internships. The session will include presentations on three internship areas, mini group interviews and a Q&A session.

Release of Information
Responsible for the comprehensive processing of requests for medical information to include customer service for walk-ins, opening and processing incoming mail, verifying authorizations, faxing, preparing letters of response, and understanding State and Federal laws surrounding release of information.
Responsible for ensuring the integrity of the medical record by analyzing and addressing duplicate medical records, patient overlays, name discrepancies, name changes, court documents, document deficiencies, and other documentation errors in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring the timely access to paper-based documentation through the functions of imaging (scanning), electronic placement of documents in the correct record (indexing), and final review and disposition (QA).
