Tarun Bhalla, MD, FAAP

Tarun Bhalla, MD joined Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2010 as medical staff after being Chief Resident and Chief Fellow at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. Dr. Bhalla is a fellowship trained and board certified pediatric anesthesiologist and is also board certified in pain medicine. Dr. Bhalla has been the Director of Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesia since 2011. The Acute Pain and Regional service at Nationwide Children’s Hospital has become one of the top in the nation amongst pediatric hospitals. It is one of the few that focus on perioperative comprehensive pain management including regional blocks and peripheral nerve catheters in the pediatric population.

Dr. Bhalla is also the program director for the Pediatric Regional Anesthesia fellowship and has a passion for both research and teaching. Dr. Bhalla continues to teach pediatric regional anesthesia at annual society workshops (American Society of Anesthesia and Society of Pediatric Anesthesia) around the country as well as internationally. Some of his research interests include pediatric neuro-trauma as well as pediatric regional and acute pain.
