How to Apply for the Sports Medicine Internship

  1. Meet the Following Criteria
    1. You are a College/University Student
    2. You have been accepted into an accredited athletic training program
    3. Your College/University must have a affiliation agreement with Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
  2. Complete the Athletic Training Internship Application Form
    1. Applications completed and submitted electronically to atintern@nationwidechildrens.org, or can be completed NEATLY in blue or black ink and mailed.
  3. Cover Letter and Resume with 3 References
  4. Two Letters of Recommendation
    1. One letter must be from a clinical instructor
    2. The Letters of Recommendation can come from your Three References
    3. Letters must be on an official letter head, in a signed and sealed envelope.

Submitting your Application Materials

  • Submit all the completed forms, resume, and cover letters to Nationwide Children's Hospital Sports Medicine Department by email, fax, or mail.
  • Letters of Recommendation must be mailed
  • Application Deadlines:
    1/31 for Spring applicants
    3/31 for Summer applicants
    6/30 for Fall applicants

The selection of students for the Internship Program at Nationwide Children's Hospital Sports Medicine is based on qualifications and experience. All selected students will be contacted by a Certified Athletic Trainer from the Sports Medicine Department.
