Sanmit K. Basu, MD, MS is a pediatric cardiologist within the imaging section at The Heart Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Ohio State College of Medicine. He is a graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN and completed a categorical pediatrics internship and residency and non-operative pediatric orthopedics and sports medicine fellowship at Children’s Memorial Hospital (now Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital) in Chicago, IL. Dr. Basu continued his training with completion of a pediatric cardiology fellowship at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO, followed by an additional year in advanced cardiac imaging at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. His clinical and research interests include cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, cardiovascular computed tomography, transthoracic & transesophageal echocardiography, and multi-modality imaging of congenital heart disease. He also has a background in cardiovascular biomechanics and its application to specific cardiac conditions. Dr. Basu is board certified in general pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric cardiology.
