Biography

Richard H. Gilchrist, MD, is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is triple-board certified in psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and pediatrics. He obtained his medical degree at The Ohio State University, followed by residencies at the University of Cincinnati (psychiatry), Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh (pediatrics), and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic and the University of Pittsburgh (child and adolescent psychiatry). Dr Gilchrist’s interests include psychosomatic medicine and psychopharmacology. After establishing the pediatric consultation liaison service at Nationwide Children’s shortly after his arrival, he has applied his skills to the inpatient psychiatric care of youth at OSU-Harding Hospital.
