Biography

Richard E. McClead Jr., MD, MHA, is a member of the Section of Neonatology and a Professor and Associate Chief Medical Officer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. McClead’s scholarly interests focus on neonatal and hospital-wide performance improvement and perinatal outreach education. In 1997, Dr. McClead received a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Minnesota. His interest in health care administration has led to an active role in quality improvement initiatives at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and his current role as the Medical Director for Quality Improvement Service. He also serves as Medical Director for the special care nursery at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
