Dave Billiter

Dave Billiter is the Director of the Research Informatics Core. Dave has over 9 years of experience related to information technology (IT). Dave's experience in IT includes technical recruiting, business development and analysis, and project management. Dave has a bachelor's degree in management and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Dave's current role is to direct all activities of the core, supervise grants associated with research informatics, recruitment of additional informatics staff and responsible for the overall success of the core.
 

Tom Barr

Tom Barr is the Imaging Manager of the Biomedical Imaging Team and serves as a liaison to the Research Informatics Core. Tom has over 15 years experience on clinical, technical, and research projects in healthcare related to digital pathology, electronic medical record (EMR), computerized physician order entry (CPOE), laboratory information systems (LIS), and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). Tom has as bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, an associate's degree in medical laboratory technology, and is EpicCare Ambulatory certified.
 

Aaron Black

Aaron Black is a Project Manager for the Biospecimen Core Resource (BCR) at Nationwide Children's Hospital as part of its participation in The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA). Aaron has spent over 10 years in the IT industry as a consultant and Project Manager in a wide array of industries including Distribution, Manufacturing, Health Care and Insurance. In his previous roles, he specialized in software implementations from legacy systems and business intelligence reporting. He is a graduate of Miami University with Degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems, which included a summer studying abroad at Miami's Luxembourg campus. He also is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
 

Heather Day

Heather Day is a Project Manager with over 9 years experience in Software Development for the healthcare industry. Heather has a BS in Business Administration and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). She has spent several years testing enterprise wide healthcare assessment and financial systems. Currently, she manages projects and assists with development activities for several Research Informatics Core initiatives.
 

Andrew Fox

Andy Fox is a programmer with over 10 years of experience in developing healthcare software. Andy has a BA in psychology and previous experience working with neurology patients as an EEG technician. Current projects include developing software to support research on investigator integrity, behavioral health, automated monitoring of patients being treated with antidepressants, and suicide prevention monitoring.


Bill Beyer

Bill Beyer has over 20 years experience in computer solutions design within the technology industry and an excellent engineering background. Bill will conduct analysis, identify project participants needs and make recommendations of possible solutions that fit our target client’s needs as well as meet our project objectives.


Bob Neville

Bob Neville is a Senior Systems programmer with more than 35 years experience in the field of database architecture and engineering. Currently, Bob is the lead engineer for the Biopathology Centers within the The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.


Seth Klock

Seth Klock is a systems developer with over 9 years experience as a developer and project lead of complex financial web applications. Seth’s technical expertise is focused on Microsoft .NET technologies, SQL Server, and Oracle. His background includes system design, web programming, production support, project / team leadership, and problem management.


Scott Hargrose

Scott Hargrose is a Bioinformatics Systems Programmer/Analyst within the The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Scott has more than 15 years of IT experience, with emphasis on database administration and programming. Currently, Scott's responsibilities include being the technical lead on the Freezerworks Project, identifying and implementing solutions for the Biopathology Center's numerous operational needs, and maintenance and care of their legacy systems.


Subha Krishnamachary

Subha Krishnamachary is a System's Programmer with more than 8 years of experience implementing web-based applications and product development using Microsoft Technologies. Subha has a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Post-Graduate diploma in Computer Applications. Current projects include developing and providing solutions for Biopathology center, COG and Genomics Core.


Jason Weis

Jason Weis is the Development Tester/Technical Writer for the Research Informatics Core. He has spent the last four years working in the financial and health care industries as a Quality Assurance and Support Analyst. Jason holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Management Information Systems from The Ohio State University.


Ben Ridout

Ben Ridout is an Application Developer with over 9 years of professional experience spread across multiple skill sets including web development (J2EE, .NET, Ruby on Rails), database integration (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL) and data warehousing (ETL). Since obtaining his BS in Systems Analysis, Ben has worked in healthcare, government, and other private industries. Current projects include the Cooperative Human Tissue Network (CHTN), Ohio Perinatal Research Network (OPRN) and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Cardio (DMD Cardio).


Josh Drignat

Josh Drignat is a graduate from DeVry University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. After working in the IS department of Nationwide Children's Hospital for four years, he transferred to the Research Informatics Core where he has put his skills to work to build and release several systems. He is currently working on a new survey system for the Family AIDS Clinic and Education Services group, along with an interface for a data collection system for the MDA Clinical Research Network.


Eric Kramer

Eric Kramer is a business technologist with over 22 years of experience delivering IT solutions to pressing business challenges.  His credentials and background cover a broad variety of disciplines, including system architecture/design, web programming, database design, data warehousing, automated software testing, project management, team leadership, root cause analysis, conflict resolution and coaching/mentoring.  Outside the office, Eric's interests include chess, astronomy, Ruby programming and spending time with his family.


Mike Plumley

Mike Plumley is an Application Developer / Analyst with 10 years experience in developing healthcare software. He has a BS in Computer and Information Science from The Ohio State University. Outside of the office, Mike enjoys listening to various styles of music, reading biographies and enjoying his family.


Joe Scarpitti

Joe Scarpitti is a Development Tester/Technical writer for the Research Informatics Core. Joe spent 20 years in the Financial Services industry with more than 10 of those years devoted to project and IT work. He has performed most major project functions including project management, requirements gathering, testing, technical writing, and training. Immediately prior to joining the RIC, his responsibilities had expanded to include computer support, website/server management, as well as some HTML development and Perl code analysis. Joe studied physics, chemistry, mathematics and a bit of programming before switching gears to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography.
