Pediatric Microsurgery - During Your Visit :: Nationwide Children's Hospital

During Your Visit

During your clinic visit, a detailed history and physical exam will be performed to determine the cause of facial paralysis and the best treatment plan. Patients will undergo precise documentation of their facial expressions and photographs will be taken. A collaborative team of facial reanimation experts will review your child’s information and a comprehensive treatment plan will be established to address the specific needs of each child. Our team of experts includes highly trained microsurgeons, physical and occupational therapists, nurses, social workers, neurologists, radiologists and other specialists ready to take care of your family member.

After your first visit, further tests such as EMG studies, MRI or CT scans may be necessary to establish the best treatment plan. Multiple visits for examinations, treatments and rehabilitation may be required to ensure the best outcome.
