Pediatric Advanced Life Support

The Renewal Course is recommended every 2 years for PALS Providers. This one-day course provides an update and review of new information related to pediatric resuscitation; teaching stations and evaluation stations.

While there is an option for an American Heart Association on-line Pals course followed by a required live skills check-off to renew your pals certification, we are not offering this option at this time.

Goal:

The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Renewal Course is to equip the student with the cognitive & psychomotor skills necessary to recognize, resuscitate, and stabilize the infant or child in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest.

Please Note: Do not use 700 Children's Dr. as a mailing address when registering for a PALS Class. Course materials are sent ahead of the class and due to distribution issues you may not receive them in time. Please use your home mailing address.

Course Information

Intended Audience	The course is intended for healthcare providers. For example, medical, nursing, paramedical, respiratory therapists, dentists, pharmacists, or allied health professionals whose daily occupation demands proficiency in the knowledge and skills of pediatric life support.
Registration Fees	The registration fee is $150.00 per person (Non Hospital Participants) for the Renewal course. Fee includes educational materials, continental breakfast and afternoon refreshments. Payment is required at the time of registration.
Class Size	The Renewal class size is limited to 18 and registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration deadline for all courses is 4 weeks prior to course start date.
Faculty	Regional Pediatric Advanced Life Support Faculty and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructors.
Pre-Requisites	Although a current BLS (Healthcare Provider) card is no longer required, all participants must demonstrate proficiency in these skills. A current PALS Provider card must be submitted for Renewal participants. Note: If your PALS Card has expired, you must contact the PALS Education Office before registering for a Renewal Course.
Cancellation Policy	Cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received after the registration deadline (4 weeks prior to class) will be subject to a 40% cancellation fee. No refunds will be made within ten (10) days of course start date. Confirmed registrants who do not attend the course are liable for the entire fee.
Additional Information	Study materials and confirmation letters will be sent to all participants after the registration deadline. If you have not received study materials by 2 weeks prior to your course date, please contact us immediately. If you change your address after you have registered, please notify the PALS Training Center so your materials are sent to the correct location.
Parking & Shuttle	Non-Employees may park in the visitor area at 255 E. Main St. (Use Entrance on E. Main). If there are no spots, you will be directed to the Mound St. lot and a shuttle will be dispatched to pick you up. Non-Employees may park in the Mound Street Lot and take a shuttle to the 255 East Main St. Shuttles run approximatyle every 15-20 minutes.
