Nationwide Children’s Hospital and SUBWAY® restaurants announced today that during the month of September, SUBWAY® customers will have an opportunity to donate to Nationwide Children’s by giving $1 or more at checkout. Customers who donate $1 or more will be offered a $1 discount on their next SUBWAY® visit in the Greater Columbus area.
“This partnership gets at the heart of who we want to be as local business owners, allowing us to use our sub shops across the Greater Columbus area to serve as an example and tap into the generosity within all of us,” said Chuck Tennenbaum, local SUBWAY® owner for more than 34 years.
“We feel privileged to be able to bring awareness to and raise dollars for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a place we all rely on to help children in our community and everywhere,” added Jim Early, also a local SUBWAY® owner, who has opened SUBWAY® shops with Tennenbaum for more than 34 years.
Through the SUBWAY Cares Card® program, donations raised from Sept. 1-Sept. 30 at all Greater Columbus Area SUBWAY® locations will benefit the Hematology/Oncology/Blood Marrow Transplant program at Nationwide Children’s. The philanthropic initiative will support patient families currently undergoing treatment, as well as pediatric cancer research.
“We are extremely grateful to SUBWAY® for their support,” said Jim Digan, President, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Their effort and dedication will make such a difference in the lives of people who, in some cases, have to experience months and months of treatment and recovery.”
