Tournament officials announced today that the ninth annual Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, held September 21-27, 2015 at The Ohio State University Golf Club - Scarlet Course, raised a total of $1,400,212 for charitable organizations, including $1,253,322 for pediatric cancer research and treatment at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. “This is the second straight year we’ve been able to eclipse the million-dollar mark on our single-season giving total to Nationwide Children’s Hospital through this tournament,” said Terrance Williams, Chairman of the Board of the tournament’s host organization, Champions of the Community. “Providing support for pediatric cancer research and treatment at Nationwide Children’s is a primary focus of the tournament. It’s our great pleasure to be in a position to help advance this critical mission. This record-setting donation is made possible by the generosity of our corporate sponsors, whose support is critical to our success. We also thank our loyal volunteers, central Ohio golf fans who continue to support the tournament each year and the members and staff at The Ohio State University Golf Club for their vital role as our host site. We look forward to future opportunities to build on our successes and continue to support Nationwide Children’s Hospital.”
“On behalf of the patients, families and staff, we are grateful to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship and Tour for their generosity,” Steve Allen, MD, Chief Executive Officer of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, said. “Another record-high donation in 2015 exemplifies the tournament and community’s support for our pediatric cancer program during the past nine years and this ongoing commitment plays a significant role in helping to raise vital awareness of our mission to help children everywhere.”
