Angela Mingo has been appointed to the newly created position of director of Community Relations at Columbus Children’s Hospital.
“We are delighted that Angela has accepted the position of directing our community relations strategy in support of our mission and vision while maintaining our commitment to be a good neighbor and a conscientious corporate citizen,” said Tim Robinson, chief financial officer and senior vice president with administrative responsibility for Community Relations at Children’s. “She comes to Children’s with a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for the vital role of community relations.”
Mingo most recently served as Columbus City Council’s community affairs director since 2001 and was a senior planner in the City of Columbus Planning Office from 1999 to 2001. Previously, she was a research coordinator for the State of Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission and a volunteer graduate associate at South Side Settlement House. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Mingo holds a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning and Bachelors of Arts degrees in International Studies and Portuguese.
Mingo has extensive experience in community outreach to civic associations, area commissions, immigrant groups and neighborhood organizations. She has assisted in City Council policy development and implementation, legislation research and review, case study development and regional trend comparative analysis. In addition, she has coordinated City Council community based special projects, has experience seeking grant dollars for project implementation and excels in forging private and public partnerships.
