Two local businesses have raised nearly $10,000 for Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Owner of Reverse Vanity Spa, Nicole DiTommaso, and Jacob Neal of Jacob Neal Salon, hosted a fundraiser last month – the “Diamond Society” event – in an effort to pay it forward to Nationwide Children’s.
Ashley Mangino, vice president of Reverse Vanity Spa, spent part of her childhood completing treatments in the hospital. Receiving top-notch care, Mangino overcame her health issues. Years later, she vowed to help other children reach the same fate. Every dollar raised from the event went to Nationwide Children’s.
“The overwhelming generosity of our community means the world to us and for countless children and families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital,” Mangino said. “I want to thank Jacob Neal Salon and everyone who attended an unforgettable evening.”
Those attendees included Governor John Kasich and his wife, both supporters of the hospital. They were joined by approximately 100 others. The atmosphere was intimate, lit by candle light, and featured live entertainment, a silent auction and raffle.
Major donors to the event included Craig Scott Capital, Farah Jewelers, Flora, Hilton Hotel Downtown, Astor & Black, Le Gateau, Chantal Stone Photography, Liberty Horse Farms, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Kerstin Florian, Image Optical, Heildleberg Distributing and Rigsby's.
“We hope to host the Diamond Society event on an annual basis, raising much needed funds for Nationwide Children’s and generating awareness for even more events to come,” said DiTommaso.
