Columbus Children’s Hospital is offering a public babysitter training workshop now through December – “Babysitter Training from A-Z.”
Babysitter Training from A-Z teaches students how to be a sitter the parents will want to invite back. Topics covered during the workshop include landing/accepting the job, learning basic baby care, handling medical and household emergencies, preparing meals and snacks, managing behavior issues and teaching creative activities. All sessions are taught by Children’s Hospital staff with clinical certifications.
Workshops are held from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Children’s Hospital sites (complete list of dates and locations below). Students attend the class for one day, and should plan to arrive by 8:45 a.m. to allow time for check-in. Participants must be 11-years of age to attend.
Pre-registration is required and is $25 per student. Registration includes educational materials, lunch, babysitter success kit and certificate of completion. Early registration is recommended as classes fill quickly and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
