Dr. Yeates is Section Chief of Nationwide Children's Pediatric Psychology and Neuropsychology. Dr. Yeates is also the Director for Center for Biobehavioral Health research. |
The team neuropsychologist consults with the center to determine which children may benefit from services to promote educational functioning, coping and adjustment, and overall quality of life.
Neurospychology provides developmental evaluations for cochlear implant candidates as appropriate. Some children also are evaluated by a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician in Developmental Disabilities Clinic. Information regarding potential language outcomes and recommendations to maximize development and adjustment are provided. Neuropsychology also works with the Cochlear Implant Team Coordinator and social worker to identify potential barriers to post-implant adherence.
Neuropsychology provides presurgical evaluations for all epilepsy surgery candidates and serial postsurgical evaluations for patients who undergo surgery. Neuropsychology also provides consultation in select outpatient Epilepsy Clinics.
Neuropsychology sees all new patients in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Concussion Clinic. Neuropsychology provides screening of cognitive functions and post-concussion symptoms and assists with recommendations regarding symptom recovery and return to activities.
The Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellow meets with designated families to provide recommendations to facilitate emotional, behavioral, social, and educational functioning.
Neuropsychology assesses the child’s neurocognitive, learning, emotional, and behavioral needs and provides recommendations for support.
The inpatient rehabilitation program is interdisciplinary and includes Neuropsychology. Neuropsychology provides discharge neuropsychological evaluations, as well as psychological interventions. Neuropsychology also provides consultative services in Rehabilitation Follow-Up Clinic.
