Nationwide traces its relationship with the hospital back decades, supporting its mission through philanthropy and volunteer efforts of Nationwide associates.
In 2006 the Nationwide Insurance Foundation awarded Columbus Children's Hospital the second largest philanthropic gift ever made to a US hospital. In recognition of Nationwide’s gift, the hospital was re-named Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
The gift supports construction of the new main hospital building, as well as programs and research in three focused areas: child safety and injury prevention, neonatal intensive care and congenital heart disease.
“Nationwide is pleased to support Miracles at Play through the donation of the Atlas Building Wallscape,” said Chad Jester, president of the Nationwide Insurance Foundation. “Nationwide has created wallscapes in this space to support our marketing programs, and we’ve seen first hand how it can create a buzz that can really drive people to take action. We thought it would be a great way to help our friends at the hospital kick off Miracles at Play and support their long-term mission of providing the very best care for every child.”
