Aiden was always afraid to go to the doctor. But that was exactly where he needed to go to get a jump start on reaching his fullest potential.
Fortunately for Aiden, he didn’t have to go anywhere. A unique state-of-the-art pediatric clinic on wheels came to him (developed through a strong partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House Charities). That was all it took for Aiden to become comfortable with going to the doctor.
Since then, he has been enjoying visiting his friends at Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders. The experts at the Center know that for each child, the severity of symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), a group of neurologically based developmental conditions, can range from mild to severe. So they provide individualized structured and comprehensive interventions to significantly improve each child’s quality of life.
The Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders is just one of the programs offered by Nationwide Children’s Behavioral Health Services. Other offerings include a wide range of services to address the needs of children, adolescents and their families. These include child and adolescent psychiatry, counseling, developmental behavioral pediatrics, nursing, psychology, and social work.
Care and interventions have certainly helped Aiden. “It has meant that Aiden can perform well in a ‘normal’ classroom and is not in a special needs class,” says Aiden’s dad, Chase. And when 8-year-old Aiden is not in school, he enjoys superheroes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Legos, and visiting with friends, including his doctors.
A Few of Aiden’s Favorite Things:
Aiden enjoys Legos, Skylanders, reading and doing experiments. His favorite musician is Taylor Swift. His favorite foods are Subway sandwiches and chicken fingers, and his favorite color is orange.
Aiden’s Cheers for Dale Jr:

From The Lorax:
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
